From random sets to continuous tensor products: answers to three questions of W. Arveson
The set of zeros of a Brownian motion gives rise to a product system in the sense of William Arveson (that is, a continuous tensor product system of Hilbert spaces). Replacing the Brownian motion with a Bessel process we get a continuum of non-isomorphic product systems.
متن کاملEvaluating Answers to Definition Questions
This paper describes an initial evaluation of systems that answer questions seeking definitions. The results suggest that humans agree sufficiently as to what the basic concepts that should be included in the definition of a particular subject are to permit the computation of concept recall. Computing concept precision is more problematic, however. Using the length in characters of a definition...
متن کاملFinding Answers to Definition Questions
Current researches on Question Answering concern more complex questions than factoid ones. Since definition questions are investigated by many researches, how to acquire accurate answers still becomes a core problem for definition QA. Although some systems use web knowledge bases to improve answer acquisition, we propose an approach that leverage them in an effective way. After summarizing defi...
